Adult Inpatient Programs

Desert Parkway Behavioral Healthcare Hospital’s adult inpatient treatment program offers a safe, secure, and therapeutic environment for adults (age 18 and older) with acute psychiatric issues. We understand the idea of hospitalization may be scary, so we show each of our patients respect, loyalty, and compassion without judgment .

Mental illness is a serious medical problem, and those suffering from it need proper comprehensive care to overcome and learn to deal with their condition. Our Las Vegas inpatient treatment center provides 24-hour monitoring, therapy, medication management, and stabilization for patients who suffer from common mental illnesses and disorders, including:

  • Bipolar Disorder
  • Psychosis/Schizophrenia
  • Anxiety
  • Substance-Related Disorders with Psychiatric Symptoms
  • Suicidal Thoughts
  • Depression/Isolation
  • Substance Abuse (Drugs and Alcohol)
  • Personality Changes
  • Withdrawal from Family and Friends
  • Onset of Confused Thinking and an Inability to Concentrate
  • Excessive Fears, Anxieties or Suspiciousness
  • Significant Behavioral Problems at Work or School

Our mental health Inpatient program is designed to alleviate symptoms as quickly as possible and return patients to an optimal level of daily functioning. It is structured to be a short-term, intensive care option for those whose mental illness interferes with their ability to maintain a healthy lifestyle. Our integrated treatment team includes psychiatrists, internists, registered nurses, case managers/social workers, activity therapists, dietitians, and ancillary nursing staff who work closely with each patient to formulate treatment goals and assess progress in meeting such goals.

The Inpatient Treatment Process

Our highly structured and comprehensive mental health inpatient treatment program includes group and family counseling, monitored detoxification (if necessary), and a variety of other unit activities, including recreation, socialization, and expressive therapies. Las Vegas Desert Parkway inpatient treatment center is focused on helping patients develop the necessary coping skills to deal with the issues that led them to hospitalization. A dual-diagnosis track in our inpatient program allows for treatment of both mental health and substance-abuse related disorders.

Once a patient is ready to leave our mental health inpatient treatment center, our case management staff provides discharge services and arranges follow-up care that is individualized for the special needs of each person and his or her loved ones. This may include intensive outpatient care, regular therapy sessions, medication monitoring, and/or other education and resources designed to help the patient continue the recovery process. We care about everyone that comes to us for inpatient treatment and is available to answer questions and provide additional information to anyone who needs it – even after completion of our inpatient program.
